Your task in Amigo Pancho funny physics game is to click to remove items from the puzzles so Pancho can escape the crazy canyon. Try to keep his balloons intact—it’s a long way down! The concept is good, but it’s incredibly frustrating in action. I know exactly how to beat a level, but doing the same actions at the same time does not produce reliable results. Needles bounce off pancho up inside the box that’s protecting him and pop the balloons, rocks don’t gain enough momentum to knock off what they’re supposed to be moving, etc. Spending some more time on the in-game physics really wouldn’t have hurt, because I really don’t like having to do a level 10 times when I figured out a long time ago what to do just because my timing was one tiny millisecond off.

Is Video Game Playing An Impulse Control Disorder?

A new study investigating video game playing among 1,200 children and teenagers throughout the country determined that 10% showed signs of pathological video-game use. Experts state that pathological video game use is comparable to a gambling addiction for adults. While there is no official diagnosis within the Diagnostic Manual for Mental Health Disorders related to video game addiction, it is seriously being considered for the 2012 edition.
Many counselors throughout the country are noticing more and more patients struggling with video game addictions. One particular facility in Idaho has seen a dramatic increase in video game addiction. A counselor there, Kirsten Griggs, estimated “at least 30% of the adolescents and young adults I treat have an issue with gaming addiction, what’s classified as an “impulse control disorder.”
Many patients report that gaming starts off simple. They play a little here and there. They say to themselves things like, I’ll stop after this level” and then simply keep going. One participant in the study said, “My friend told me about how fun World of Warcraft was, so I figured I would try. I took the first step to buy a WOW account and next thing I know I’m falling asleep in class because I stay up all night playing.”
According to Griggs, “When you start seeing any individual trading off real life for the fantasy world, where they’re refusing to interact with friends, go out with family, when they’d rather stay in their room with a computer, that’s a huge red flag.” With the ability to play games on the go through handheld devices, the addiction is even harder to overcome.

Cross realms with new World of Warcraft feature – but you’ll have to pay for it

In a cool move Blizzard Entertainment has announced that players of the video game World of Warcraft will soon be able to cross realms. They are releasing a new system that will let players team up for particular dungeons regardless of what realm they are in. Many players have been eagerly waiting for a new feature that would allow them to do just this. Blizzard has high hopes for the program, but many World of Wracraft subscribers are disappointed with the company for deciding to charge its users for it.
Blizzard is stating that the new program is a “premium” feature. They stated that the service was fairly complex to develop. It will allow “players to invite Real ID friends of the same faction to a party regardless of the realm they play on, and queue up for a 5-player regular of Heroic dungeon.” While the company has yet to specify a release date for the feature, they did release that they intend to charge users for its usage. Certain connectivity issues are already underway and it appears only the person who sends the invitation is required to have the premium feature installed.
Users of the popular video game already feel that they are taken advantage of. Not only do you have to pay for a monthly membership, there are many other aspects that often send players digging in their pockets. The decision to charge users is surprising to some, especially in the wake of World of Warcraft recently loosing 600,000 subscribers.
